Who is Prof. Dr. Taner Usta?

Born in Antakya in 1974, Prof. Dr. Taner Usta completed his secondary education at Özel İçel Koleji and his high school education at T.S.G.L., and graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1999.

Prof. Dr. Taner Usta completed his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Prime Ministry Vakıf Gureba Training and Research Hospital (Bezmi Alem University) and became an “Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist” in 2004. Having attended training first in Turkey and later abroad (Spain, France, the USA, Canada, Denmark), particularly in endoscopy (minimally invasive surgery: laparoscopy and robotic surgery), chocolate cyst (endometriosis) and pelvic pain, Prof. Dr. Taner Usta is one of 10 people in the world to have completed training in chocolate cyst (endometriosis), pelvic pain and advanced pelvic surgery. He currently focuses mainly on chocolate cyst (endometriosis), pelvic pain, reproductive surgery and, in particular, laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

He has served as an instructor at many courses and congresses in Turkey and abroad in his areas of interest. From 2019 to 2022 he was President of the Endometriosis Society, and he is currently a member of its board of directors. He is a member of the advisory boards of the European Endometriosis League (EEL) and the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE).
